FINES CREEK — James Mark Ferguson Jr., 56, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at his home. A life-long resident of Haywood County, he was the son of James Mark Ferguson and the late Earline Babb Switzer. In addition to his mother, Mark was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Ferguson. Mark had many passions in life, from riding horses and motorcycles, to camping with friends and family throughout the mountains.He was a member of Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church. Along with his father, Mark is survived by one daughter, Lilyanna Quinn, of Sylva; two sons, Marquis Ferguson and his wife, Amber, of Clyde and Dylan Ferguson, of South Carolina; two brothers, Steve Ferguson, of Clyde, and Jeffrey Ferguson, of Fairview; a half-brother, John Switzer, of South Carolina; two stepsisters, Patricia Fricks, of Clyde, and Libby Fountain, of California; one stepbrother, Bill Fricks, of Clyde; four grandchildren; and cousins, Marion, Neil, Charles, Margaret, and Martha. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Moore officiating. The family will received friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. At other times, the family will be at the residence of James Ferguson.
